🐾 Found a stray, or a pet that isn't yours?
By law, the shelter can't take in stray or found animals — those go to Logan County Animal Control first. That's also where to bring a pet you've found, so its family has the best chance of finding it. (Many of the animals we take in and adopt out come to us from there.)

Need to rehome your own pet? If you can, the kindest first step is a family member or friend who already loves them. If that's not possible, HSLC accepts owner surrenders by arrangement — call us at 217-737-4042 and we'll talk through your options, no judgment.
