Success Stories

Forever Home - Ethel

EthelETHEL, HSLC's beagle mix puppy, was adopted Saturday morning.  She is now know as Jade, and she joins a family consisting of a mother, father, three children, and a shih tzu.  The older dog may not want to play as much as Jade, but the family will be sure she gets lots and lots of play time.  The mother said Jade already has more "stuff" than she needs.  She definitely will get her share of attention.

Forever Home - Lucy

Lucy-2LUCY, HSLC's beagle mix puppy, was adopted Wednesday afternoon.  Her name has been changed to Leagha.  Her new "father" was very anxious to take her home, but he had to wait until she was fairly well healed from her spay surgery.  He was at the shelter to take her home as soon as the "good to go" signal was given.  Hopefully, she did not miss her sister and other puppy friend too much during the night, and they both were able to sleep.

Forever Home - Hayde

Hayden-4HAYDEN, HSLC's weimeraner mix, was also adopted Wednesday afternoon.  Her new family has three children ages 8 through 14 who were very, very anxious to take her to her forever home.  Hayden likes to nip when she plays, but the family was not daunted by the task of redirecting this behavior.  They plan to love her, make her a good companion, and enjoy her company for years to come.

Forever Home - Smoke

Smoke-4HSLC's nine month old grey female kitten, SMOKE, was adopted by a mother and her teenage daughter.  Not sure who was the most excited, the mother or the daughter.  Smoke will keep her name as she goes to her new home with a very shy German shepherd.  The daughter looked at all the cats, and Smoke chose her.  She was cuddled firmly in the young lady's arms just before being placed in the carrier to go to her forever home.

Forever Home - Andy

Andy-2HSLC's black male cat, ANDY, has found a forever home.  He joins a household with five other cats.  They were specifically looking for a black male because not long ago their black male died unexpectedly.  They found Andy, and the rest, as they say, is history.  Andy's new name is Diablo, Junior, and his new family said they were "ecstatic" to have him in their forever home.

Forever Home - Ginger

Ginger-5Ginger, HSLC's six year old black and tan mix dog, was also adopted on Tuesday.  Ginger already met the older dog who will share the home with her, and they got along well.  The very best thing about Ginger's new forever home is the fact that there are grandchildren who visit frequently. Ginger has found a very good home.

Forever Home - Jordan

Jordan-3Jordan, HSLC's male gray tabby was adopted Tuesday.  Jordan is the only cat in his new family, but he will share attention with a 3 year old dog.  This will be a new experience for Jordan who always wants things to go his way.  Jordan will keep his name in his forever home.

Forever Home - Coco

CoCo2Coco, HSLC's white female pit mix, was adopted Friday morning.  Her forever home has a nice fenced in yard for her to run.  Her new "father" said she would have lots of toys and has a new bed.  Coco's new family lost a dog not long ago, and they are certain that Coco is the dog to fill the void that has been left in their hearts.  If Coco responds, her name will be changed to Sugar.  If she doesn't like Sugar, it will remain Coco.

Forever Home - Lilly

Lily-3HSLC's gray and white ten month old cat named Lilly found a forever home.  Her new "father" lives with his family, and his sister has two dogs, so Lilly will encounter a new form of life.  He said the dogs will also discover a new form of life.  Lilly is very shy, so she will have to become a little more outgoing to live up to her sophisticated new name.....Isabelle.

Forever Home - Snickerdoodle

SnickerdoodleHSLC's kitten, Snickerdoodle, was adopted.  Since he was so young, his new family had to wait a little while before he could go home, but on Saturday the day finally arrived. Snickerdoodle, now Maverick, went home to two dogs and another cat named Mason.
