Sunday 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

The HSLC SHELTER at 1801 East Lincoln Parkway has opened the doors to our first guests.

We have lively, adorable kittens, puppies and young adult cats and dogs ready for adoption.

The successful operation of the HSLC shelter going forward will depend on the dedication and willingness of our volunteers. We will need your help everyday of the year. Caring for abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats is a huge responsibility. We are counting on those of you who expressed a desire to volunteer at the shelter.

St Clara residents with Gus
st.clara-manor001
On Wednesday Cindy Kirberg, Shelter Manager, and Lynn White, Board Member, took two HSLC shelter dogs and visited the residents at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.  Gus, a male Boxer/Labrador Retriever and Emma, a 3 1/2 month old female Brittany Spaniel/Terrier puppy, spent time meeting and playing with the residents.  They also visited in the rooms of residents who were not able to attend the main visit. The dogs enjoyed being petted and played with.  The shelter staff enjoyed meeting everyone.  Best of all the residents throughly enjoyed the afternoon and can't wait for the HSLC to schedule a return visit.
