a small school gives so much for the love of animals

 

Friday morning Mary Dowdel, Lynn White and HSLC guests Baby Girl, Lady and Bubba went to New Holland/Middletown School to attend the annual award presentations.  While the humans cheered when the children received their awards, Baby Girl and Bubba barked their approval.  The children loved it.

Our heartfelt thanks to all who helped with another successful Garage Sale!
Those who moved, packed, priced, braved the elements, and worked the actual sale, Thank you!
The total although not final just yet, could be in the $8,000 range!!!
A special thanks to the National Honor Society students who gave up their part of their Saturday to help us-Triston, Rebecca, Jacqueline and Jessica along with our face painters Jeris and Daria.

Cat & Dog Room Helpers

volunteers neededHSLC is so very fortunate to have a wonderful staff of volunteers. In order to maintain coverage during vacations, time-off, etc. , HSLC is seeking volunteers to train as dog and cat room helpers on an as needed basis. If you have a morning or evening that you can give to our wonderful guests, please call Cindy Kirberg, Shelter Manager, at 217.737.4042 and volunteer to be a part of our growing Shelter.

Foster Homes Needed

Volunteers and Foster Homes needed for Dogs & Cats

foster home needsSince the Humane Society of Logan County Shelter has been in operation the number of foster families has dwindled to almost none.  Granted, most of the animals can be taken directly to the shelter and kept there until they are adopted.  But, there are exceptions.  Consequently, foster families are still very, very important.
